Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society Victoria

The Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society of Victoria (CCCIS), formerly the Chinese Cancer Society of Victoria, is a volunteer-based charity founded in 1996 as one of the Cancer Council Victoria’s support groups to address an urgent need for culturally and linguistically appropriate services for Chinese people who have been affected by cancer.

The Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society of Victoria (CCCIS), formerly the Chinese Cancer Society of Victoria, is a volunteer-based charity founded in 1996 as one of the Cancer Council Victoria’s support groups to address an urgent need for culturally and linguistically appropriate services for Chinese people who have been affected by cancer. Over the years, CCCIS has expanded its services to support people from Chinese-speaking backgrounds affected by other chronic illnesses such as Parkinson’s and Dementia, as well as cancer. Trained volunteers of CCCIS (with support from staff) have been facilitating support groups for patients and/or carers, including cancer support groups (Mandarin, Cantonese and English, respectively), Parkinson's Disease support group, Dementia support group, and Wellbeing groups in different locations across Melbourne metropolitan areas. All groups welcome carers and care recipients to attend together.
