Lindsay's story: Finding balance again

When Lindsay joined the six-week Carer Coaching program, she was looking for a way to create more structure in her life and start prioritising her own wellbeing. Living with chronic pain, multiple health conditions and caring responsibilities, she found herself constantly putting others first.

“Coaching helped me reconnect with my values of acceptance, balance, respect, empathy, connection and community,” Lindsay shared, “and use them to guide positive change.”

One of the most important shifts for Lindsay was recognising that her own health matters. “Looking after my health is non negotiable,” she said. Through the program, she began to strengthen her self advocacy, take a more proactive approach to her physical and mental well-being, and replace over responsibility with healthier boundaries. “I’m still working on self compassion,” she reflected, “but it’s becoming part of my journey.”

The coaching sessions offered a space where Lindsay felt supported and heard. “It was a safe place to reflect, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, and focus on what I could control.” Between sessions, she felt motivated to take consistent steps forward, improving communication with her family and workplace and making decisions more aligned with her long term well-being.

As a result, Lindsay describes a meaningful shift in how she approaches caring and life more broadly. “I feel more empowered, confident and self aware,” she said. “I now have clearer routines, stronger self advocacy skills, and a more sustainable approach to balancing my caring role with my own wellbeing.”

For Lindsay, the program wasn’t just about making changes in the moment. “It helped me recognise my strengths, celebrate my progress, and create lasting positive change.”
