Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)

Are you caring for someone aged 65 or older, or aged 50 or older for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. CHSP helps older Australians access entry-level support services to live independently and safely at home. Carers Victoria is here to help. Let one of our compassionate, qualified team members support the person you care for while you take a well-earned break to do the things you enjoy.

Service can be provided in the home or out in the community supporting activities the person you
care for enjoys. You choose the option that works best.

This service is provided to eligible people living in the following catchment areas: Brimbank City Council, Hobsons Bay Council, Maribyrnong City Council, Melbourne City, Melton City Council, Moonee Valley Council and Wyndham City Council.

How to Access the Service

Please contact the My Aged Care contact centre by calling 1800 200 422 to check your eligibility.

Alternatively, if you would like to know more about how the service works prior to checking your eligibility, please contact Carers Victoria by phoning 1800 514 845 and choose Option 1, for Carer Advisory Service.

SANE Forums

Carers Victoria has partnered with SANE Australia to deliver the SANE Forums, a moderated, online discussion space for Australians 18 years and over who are living with complex mental health issues, and families, friends and carers of people living with complex mental health issues.

The SANE forums are a moderated, online discussion place which allow you to share information, stories and positive pathways through your experience.

Forums are moderated 24/7 by health professionals employed by SANE Australia and partner organisations.
