Australians report a new cyberattack every six minutes. Out of those reports, one in every four is from Victoria. While these figures are startling, there is action you can take to protect yourself!

Are you worried about being exposed to an online scam?

Do you worry about disclosing your personal information online?

Are you concerned about your security when using client service systems like NDIS and My Aged Care?

Join Sarah from Away from the Keyboard – a registered Australian charity focused on the prevention of online harm and the promotion of safer, more connected communities. Learn simple steps you can take to stay safe online including:

  • Being aware of the digital safety risks facing carers
  • Knowing how to recognise and avoid a scam
  • Strategies to optimise your safety when using systems like online banking and MyGov
  • Knowing how your data is used and how to protect it
  • Ways to secure your privacy when using client services like NDIS and My Aged Care.

During registration there will be an opportunity to ask your specific questions that our presenter will aim to answer in the session.

About the presenter

Sarah Barnbrook is an award-winning advocate, tech educator, and founder of Away from Keyboard (AFK), a registered Australian charity focused on the prevention of online harm and the a safer, more connected community. AFK supports carers, families, and vulnerable people by delivering practical tools, training, and strategies to navigate the digital world with confidence.

With lived experience as a long-term carer and parent to neurodivergent children, Sarah brings real-world insight to the challenges of managing complex digital systems like MyGov, NDIS, and telehealth, while facing scams, system lockouts, and digital fatigue. Her work translates technical concepts into clear, empowering actions that centre human dignity and safety.
