The Child Disability Assistance Payment is a $1000 annual payment made for a child with disability under 16 years who attracts a payment of Carer Allowance for their carer.

What is it?

The Child Disability Assistance Payment is a $1,000 annual payment made for a child with a disability under 16 years who attracts a payment of Carer Allowance for their carer.

The payment can be used to assist families to purchase support, aids, therapies, or respite that they require for their child with disability. Importantly, the payment will help carers to purchase the form of assistance that best suits the needs of the family.

The Child Disability Assistance Payment is not subject to income tax and does not count as income for social security or family assistance purposes.
