What happens on the day?
You can come for the whole day or just drop into the sessions that interest you. There’s no pressure – just support, information and a space to breathe.
The day includes practical sessions to help you navigate the NDIS or My Aged Care, manage everyday challenges, plan for the future and look after your own wellbeing. You can connect directly with local supports through a service provider expo, where community organisations, councils and other services are available to answer questions and help you find the right support.
There’s also time to pause and recharge. Creative and wellbeing activities run throughout the day, along with quiet spaces if you need a break.
We provide morning tea and lunch at no extra cost, giving you the opportunity to sit down with other carers, share experiences and meet people who understand what caring is really like.
Who is it for?
Roving Respite is for unpaid carers of all ages – parents, partners, young carers, adult children and friends. If you support someone with disability, Illness, mental health challenges or age-related needs, you are welcome.
Why Roving Respite?
Many carers in regional areas find it hard to access support or connect with others. Roving Respite brings services and community together locally, making it easier to find information, build confidence and feel less alone.
Carers Victoria is the peak body support unpaid carers across Victoria. We’re here to help you navigate support and sustain your caring role.
