Celebrating the Essendon Parkinson’s Support Group Carers: National Carers Week 2025

15 Oct 2025 12.30pm - 2.30pm

Every six minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s, there is no cure, and as the condition progresses those caring for someone with Parkinson’s take on most of the household duties (cooking, cleaning, banking, shopping), medical liaison, as well as assistance with the activities of daily living. Care is 24/7.

The Essendon Parkinson’s Support Group Inc, will host a light luncheon for our members and their Carers (spouses, partners, family and friends). At the Aberfeldie Church Hall 5 Price Street Essendon, 3040.  Gifts will be provided for each Carer.

Several of our members are in Aged Care or Hospital.  We plan to deliver a gift to them if they are unable to attend.

An Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist from Fight Parkinson’s will attend.  An invitation has been forwarded to the Aged Care Navigation Officer from Moonee Valley Council to attend as well, she has provided ongoing support to our group over a number of years.
