Sarah Barnbrook is an award-winning advocate, tech educator, and founder of Away from Keyboard (AFK), a registered Australian charity focused on the prevention of online harm and the a safer, more connected community. AFK supports carers, families, and vulnerable people by delivering practical tools, training, and strategies to navigate the digital world with confidence.
With lived experience as a long-term carer and parent to neurodivergent children, Sarah brings real-world insight to the challenges of managing complex digital systems like MyGov, NDIS, and telehealth, while facing scams, system lockouts, and digital fatigue. Her work translates technical concepts into clear, empowering actions that centre human dignity and safety.
