A carer support group established in 2012.
BRAINS provides a source of information- support and advocacy for family carers who support a family member with an acquired brain injury (ABI).
The group aims to assist family members of people living with an ABI to continue their caring role and regain control of their lives via information and provision and education; advocating to change systems; peer and mutual support in an ongoing format; having fun!
BRAINS provides a place and space that family members can go (without the person they care for) to spend time with others who understand and empathise without judgement.
Both current and former carers are welcomed.
Luncheons, morning teams, general respite and catch ups.
This group operates as a support group.
Planning underway for guest speakers to attend throughout the year.
First speaker due in April.
