What activities does the group undertake throughout the year?
The group is divided into 3 components which include; education sessions, peer support and social dinners. Education sessions (held at AMHRU): Facilitators arrange specific guest speakers to present. Carers have the opportunity to nominate guest speakers of their choice. Peer support sessions (held at AMHRU): Opportunity for members to have a safe space to discuss arising concerns and involvements with their loved ones and the mental health system. Social outings: A dinner is arranged every 3 months. Members have the opportunity to choose a specific outing which is usually discussed at the previous meeting.
