The 2026 Young Carer Scholarship Program is now closed

About the program
Over 62,400 young people in Victoria are believed to have significant care responsibilities. They may support their mother, father, sister, brother or grandparent at home who have a disability, chronic illness, experience mental ill health or addiction or with aging care needs. Many are at risk of lower educational outcomes or have difficulty maintaining social networks and participating in activities with their peers.
Carers Victoria is proud to present the Young Carers Scholarship program 2026 which gives young carers attending secondary school in Victoria scholarships of up to $500 in acknowledgment of their contributions to their family and community. The scholarships can be used for further education, joining in school or community activities or helping young carers to further their creative or sporting passions.
Scholarships are paid as a Prezzee Visa Digital Gift Card which will be sent to a nominated Australian email address and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.

Being awarded the Young Carer Scholarship made me feel deeply appreciated and recognized for the efforts I put into balancing my caregiving responsibilities and education.
