Opening Night Exhibition: UNBOUND by recognised carer artist Connie Wong

17 Apr 2026 - 4 May 2026 5.00am - 1.00pm

Dear friends and carers community members,

I am delighted to share my solo exhibition, UNBOUND, featuring a selection of works containing spontaneous body movement, vibrant colour and luminous light. Drawing inspiration from Tony Smibert’s Tao Sublime and the expressive legacy of Zhang Daqian, I bring forward an artistic voice shaped by my environment and by the reality of navigating ageism, gender bias, and the quiet invisibility often experienced by migrants and long-time carers.

My paintings transform the challenges of ageism, gender bias and cultural invisibility into colour, movement and emotional openness. UNBOUND is a celebration of creative renewal and a tribute to the resilience of carers in our communities.

I am delighted to have Dr. Brendan Murphy, author and psychiatrist, to be officially opening the exhibition.
