2024 National Carer Survey highlights financial stress and lack of recognition

Full results of the 2024 National Carer Survey have been released, and they paint a concerning picture for carers around Australia.

The 2024 National Carer Survey, for which full results were released on 17 April 2025 by Carers NSW, highlights the escalating challenges faced by Australia’s 3 million family and friend carers.

The Survey, which received over 10,000 responses, reveals troubling trends in financial stress and a significant gap in recognition and support for carers.

The Survey offers detailed insights into the lived experiences of Australian carers and the results paint a concerning picture of rising financial strain and a continued gap in critical recognition and support.
