DESCRIPTION:Do you facilitate a carer support group as part of your paid work\, and are looking for training to enhance your existing skills?\n\n\nA FREE two-session online program for Employed/Paid Facilitators of Carer Support Groups by Carers Victoria. \nOur Carer Group Facilitator Training for employed/paid facilitators provides the key information and skills required to effectively run a carer support group. \nThe course is delivered in 2 hour blocks over a 2 week period; it is 4 hours of training in total. \nSession 1 – Wednesday 6 May 2026 at 10am – 12pm. \nSession 2 – Wednesday 13 May 2026 at 10am – 12pm. \nTopics include: \n\nConsiderations when establishing a carer support group – membership\, structure\, format\, logistics\n\n\nExploring the purpose and benefits of a carer support group\n\n\nSkills for facilitating a carer support group\, including purpose statements and group agreements\n\n\nTuckman’s model of the lifecycle of a group\n\n\nActive listening skills\n\n\nExploring group dynamics\n\n\nOngoing support for facilitators offered by Carers Victoria and access to a facilitator guide published by Carers Victoria.\n\nWho should attend \nThose who are new to the role of a carer support group facilitator and existing facilitators who wish to refresh and extend their knowledge and skills in this area. \nLocation \nThis is an online event. DESCRIPTION:Wellbeing Workshops for Carers is a free\, 10-week program designed to support carers to focus on their own health and wellbeing in a welcoming\, supportive environment. \nThe weekly sessions use gentle movement\, circus-inspired activities and creative play to reduce stress\, build confidence and encourage connection with others who share similar caring experiences. Sessions are relaxed\, non-competitive and adaptable\, with space to move at your own pace. \nWho is it for? \nThese workshops are for carers aged 18+ of any gender\, including those providing paid or unpaid support to someone with illness\, disability\, mental health needs or age-related frailty. \nNo prior experience is required\, and all activities are tailored to suit different bodies\, abilities\, cultural backgrounds and comfort levels. \nDates: \nWeekly sessions from Monday 20 April – Monday 29 June\, 1:30PM-3pm \n(No workshop on 8 June – King’s Birthday Public Holiday) \nYou can book for in for individual sessions or a package: sessions 1-5 or 6-10. \nWhere: \nWomen’s Circus\, 395 Barkly Street\, Footscray VIC \n  \nPresented by Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) and Women’s Circus.

DESCRIPTION:Choirs For Carers is a project run by Creativity Australia supporting Victorian based carers through the power of music\, mindfulness\, and peer connection. This program offers a safe\, inclusive space for carers to take a break\, recharge\, and share experiences with others who understand their challenges. \nRunning from Feb-June 2026 for our Victorian With One Voice choirs. It’s all about inviting new carers into the program and celebrating and supporting existing (unpaid or family) carers in our choirs. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the interactive workshop designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to advocate for your child\, appeal NDIS plan decisions and understand your rights. During this session\, you will learn about internal reviews\, Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) applications\, and how to advocate effectively for your child to get the best outcome for their plan. \nThis session will be presentated by Mari Mohamed who is a Lived Experience Advocate and Disability Support Coordinator for Chapter One Services. \nThis event is free to attend and morning tea is provided. Preschool aged children (0-6 years) are welcome. While you join the session\, a MyTime play leader will engage children in meaningful play nearby. \nMyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities\, developmental delays\, or chronic medical conditions. It offers connection\, support\, and resources in a safe and welcoming space. \nEligibility: Open to parents and carers of children up to 18 years of age with disability\, developmental delay\, or chronic medical conditions. \nRSVP: Spaces are limited—registration is essential.

SUMMARY:Carer Connect – Equine Assisted Learning
DESCRIPTION:Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) offers physically and psychologically safe experiences with horses. \nEAL gives participants an opportunity to explore issues or feelings that may be troublig them. It also provides a safe space to simply enjoy being with the peaceful horses. \nNo riding is involved in this practice. Individuals do not need to have had experience with horses to participate. \nThis is a Carer specific program where previous participants have found it to be transformative for their caring role. \nCarers need to be available to attend all 4 sessions to garner the full benefit of the program.
