DESCRIPTION:Do you facilitate a carer support group as part of your paid work\, and are looking for training to enhance your existing skills?\n\n\nJoin our FREE two-session online program for Employed/Paid Facilitators of Carer Support Groups by Carers Victoria. \nOur Carer Group Facilitator Training for employed/paid facilitators provides the key information and skills required to effectively run a carer support group. \nThe course is delivered in 2 hour blocks over a 2 week period; it is 4 hours of training in total. \nSession 1 – Tuesday 21 July 2026 at 10am – 12pm. \nSession 2 – Tuesday 28 July 2026 at 10am – 12pm. \nTopics include: \n\nConsiderations when establishing a carer support group – membership\, structure\, format\, logistics\n\n\nExploring the purpose and benefits of a carer support group\n\n\nSkills for facilitating a carer support group\, including purpose statements and group agreements\n\n\nTuckman’s model of the lifecycle of a group\n\n\nActive listening skills\n\n\nExploring group dynamics\n\n\nOngoing support for facilitators offered by Carers Victoria and access to a facilitator guide published by Carers Victoria.\n\nWho should attend \nThose who are new to the role of a carer support group facilitator and existing facilitators who wish to refresh and extend their knowledge and skills in this area. \nLocation \nThis is an online event. DESCRIPTION:A free online session for facilitators of Carer Support Groups.\n\n\nPurpose of the Facilitator Network \nThis network is hosted by Carers Victoria to bring together paid/employed facilitators of Carer Groups across Victoria. It creates an opportunity to meet\, network and hear from facilitators in a range of areas and organisations. We welcome both new and experienced facilitators and encourage you to share your expertise\, struggles and wisdom. \nFacilitator Network in 2026 \nIn 2026\, we will be creating a series of events with different topics. \nFacilitators are encouraged to attend one or all sessions. There is no minimum requirement\, and we seek to tailor our material and sessions to the emerging needs of the group. \nAugust 2026 Facilitator Network Meeting \nThis is the third network meeting for 2026. Our topic will be ‘The art of effective listening’ – a skill essential for group facilitation. Join us to brush up on your existing skills and learn about positive listening habits.
