DESCRIPTION:A FREE information session and morning tea for carers by Carers Victoria.\n\n\nEmergency Care Planning for Carers in Bendigo\nThis practical 90 minute in person workshop supports carers to plan for unexpected situations when they may be unable to provide care as usual. \nThe workshop will cover why emergency care plans matter\, the types of emergencies to consider\, who could help\, and what key information to document. Attendees will also have time to work through an emergency care plan template. \nThis is an introductory session focused on short-term planning and does not cover advanced care planning. \nLocation \nBendigo Library\, 259 Hargreaves St. \nAbout this event \nCaring for others is what you do every day – but what happens if you’re suddenly unable to provide care? \nThis supportive in person 90-minute workshop helps you think through and document what needs to be in place if an emergency arises. \nWe’ll explore: \n\nwhy it’s important to have a plan\nwhat kind of emergencies to plan for\nwho could help\nwhat information to include\n\nand guide you through an emergency care plan template. \nWe know this can feel overwhelming. A series of five online workshops designed to help experienced and new volunteer facilitators and group members to run effective carer support groups. All sessions include a combination of new information and opportunities to share your valuable knowledge. \nPromoting your Carer Support Group \n– explore ways to attract new members to your group \n– how to make the most of social media \n– introduction to developing flyers using Canva online graphic design platform (how to upload a free version) \n– share your tips for promotion success \nWho should attend \nVolunteer or unpaid organisers and facilitators of Carer Support or peer groups and yarning circles. Relevant for both new and established Groups. \nAbout the presenters \nKim Repcak and Sally Camilleri are Carer Educators at Carers Victoria. DESCRIPTION:A free workshop and networking event by Carers Victoria and Grampians Region Sector Development Team\n\n\nBecoming Carer Aware Workshop in Ballarat\nA free workshop and networking event hosted by Carers Victoria and Grampians Region Sector Development Team. \nThis workshop is designed for organisations and staff working under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). It is also relevant to the broader aged care sector and its workers.\nAbout this event \nThis session will focus on building your understanding of unpaid carers in our community\, exploring the issues impacting on their caring role and what key services are available to support them. \nTopics include: \n\nCarer awareness – the carer landscape\, themes and challenges faced by carers\, including in the current aged care context.\nCarer supports – referral options\, services available to unpaid carers.\nImplementing Carer Aware – exploring ways to support carers within your service and within your broader organisation\n\nA networking opportunity and complimentary lunch will follow the workshop. \nPlease advise of dietary requirements when registering. \nWorkshop 10am – 12pm \nLunch 12pm – 12.30pm \nWho should attend \nThis workshop is designed for organisations and staff working under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). DESCRIPTION:A FREE online session for carers by Carers Victoria\n\n\nDeveloping an Emergency Care Plan for the Person you care for\nPlanning for peace of mind \nHave you ever wondered what would happen if you were unwell and could not keep up your caring role? \nDo you have a lot of important information about the person you care for all in your head? \nAbout this event \nThis 90 minute workshop is designed to help you consider and document what needs to be done to prepare for an emergency\, when you are not able to care for others\, as you usually would. This workshop will Include the following: \n\nWhy it is important to have an emergency care plan\n\n\nWhat kind of emergencies to plan for\n\n\nWho might be able to help in an emergency\n\n\nWhat key information needs to be documented in an emergency care plan\n\n\nPractice working through an emergency care plan template.\n\nNavigating an emergency can be very daunting. During this workshop\, we will work through a plan\, to help you plan ahead and hopefully keep peace of mind. This is an introduction to emergency care planning. \nPlease note \nThis workshop will not cover advanced care planning (Advanced care planning is a proactive process that helps individuals prepare for future healthcare decisions\, ensuring their wishes are respected if they become unable to communicate them). The focus of this workshop is how to provide continuity of care should something unexpected happen to you. \nLocation \nThis is an online event.
