You will: \n\nknow what you want to say to your local MP to help make life fairer for carers\, using Carers Victoria’s five-point plan as a reference\n\n\nconfidently submit your advocacy letter or perhaps ask for a meeting with your local member of Parliament\n\n\nbe able to share this information with other carers and the wider community and download resources (like a poster for example) to assist you to spread the word.\n\nPlease note:\nYou will receive a short 20-minute background film prior to the workshop to inspire you before we get started. All sessions include a combination of new information and opportunities to share your valuable knowledge. \nBuilding on what you know about group dynamics\, we will explore what your Carer Support Group needs in relation to: \n\nfacilitation within the groups existing dynamics.\nhow to create a supportive environment and meet the needs of the talker and the introvert.\nhow to manage conflict when it occurs\n\nWho should attend \nVolunteer or unpaid organisers and facilitators of Carer Support\, peer groups and yarning circles. This workshop will Include the following: \n\nWhy it is important to have an emergency care plan\n\n\nWhat kind of emergencies to plan for\n\n\nWho might be able to help in an emergency\n\n\nWhat key information needs to be documented in an emergency care plan\n\n\nPractice working through an emergency care plan template.\n\nNavigating an emergency can be very daunting. During this workshop\, we will work through a plan\, to help you plan ahead and hopefully keep peace of mind. This is an introduction to emergency care planning. \nPlease note \nThis workshop will not cover advanced care planning (Advanced care planning is a proactive process that helps individuals prepare for future healthcare decisions\, ensuring their wishes are respected if they become unable to communicate them).
